With the amount of coast line the Powell River area has, not much of it is accessible by 4x4. I set out on todays afternoon adventure with my trusty sidekick Milo to find a beach or two I heard tale of....

I was trying to get to this rumoured beach at Elephant Point that a buddy had sent me a pic of when he took his bike in. I looped around the logging slash road but apparently it's well hidden and I missed it. The pics pinked above are from a beach at the north side of St Vincents Bay.

The trail I took straight north from Elephant Point towards Hotham Sound was extremely grown in. The maps showed a trail down to the water so I went for it. It was thick, I was bulldozing over 4" or so alders and just hoping the road was there as I couldn't see a damn thing most of the time, all while along a cliff edge road..fun stuff
It eventually ended at a bit of a clearing where I could turn around luckily, but I could see no trace of any beach access trail.

Still nice to get out, I see Milo got a swim in, more adventure awaits.

Photos look amazing! I wish we have secluded oceanfront spots like that so close to home.
