sooo I just contacted a guy - running an ad for 1969 FJ40..he's about 600 miles from here - Im thinking about transporting it back to NC - what are your suggestions? Uhaul seems ridiculous, I dont own a vehicle that could tow it...whats your feedback on the Mudship rides that people offer?

Where does he live? I have an 2 f250 and a car trailer. That could be a weekend road trip. Im cheap too just ask the rest of the club members. :)

I hate to pass on what looks to be a really good one..but Im feeling selfish - if I drop 2k on traveling..then thats 2k I couldve used on messing with the FJ itself..guess I should be more patient... SIGH

this...

but if you are going to pass post up a link to the add for others to move on if wanted.

Where is this 40? I wont charge ya 2k to go get it. Cost of diesel, which at 1200 miles round trip hmmm right around $400 to $500 range. Then what ever you wanted to throw on top. Im trying to make a few bucks to put towards a new lift.

Ohh I almost forgot there must be a crockpot of meatballs included too;)

I used these folks

He's in the military, she's does the business end. I used them to haul 1000 miles up the East coast. They are just starting out so price was amazing. They did a great job, really quick and professional with frequent communications.
I have no affiliation with them. As always due diligence is recommended. Always ask for business license and insurance.

Sorry,
It's a husband and wife, starting their own company based out of Florida. He has a military background (Army if I remember correctly and was deployed in Iraq) and does the driving, she handles the bookings and customer service. Shoot them an email...yes that is their email at the bottom of my initial post.

No Meatballs = Dealbreaker?

Thats quite a generous offer, Im astounded! I think Ill pass..sent a couple of emails to non - mud member classifieds.. If anyones interested in the one its over on the classifieds here

I believe Ill have to pass on this 1969 .. and Ill probably kick myself later.

I posted a WTB over on the classifieds

And btw...Im an old southern girl...Ive never once made meatballs..but people come miles around for a great steak or my pot roast..perhaps the huz and I can invite ourselves over with a crock full and force you into showing us around your FJ? Id love to look at someones labor of love!

Already discussed it... me and the fam are coming!

My better half will be there so you can chat with her then also.

cool deal..to be honest...I was kinda hoping to show up as an owner :crybaby: But either way - we're going to drive up Friday evening and head back late Saturday to Jax -Im super excited!!

Thanks for the advice..You are completely right, I'm definitely eager..but I'm still cautious! If anything, I'll talk myself out of it if a specific FJs pros and cons are too close to call.
