Can you guys post pictures of any aftermarket head units that you've swapped out? I have an 06, and I'm thinking about getting rid of the factory head unit.

Yes. Plus, I would love to see just any aftermarket swap outs. I really would like to upgrade if there is such a thing. I would love to find something that allows you to stream music via bluetooth. Just get the stereo up to date. I use the tape adapter to play music on my iPhone now, but hate all the wires.

Thanks. It does have bluetooth, but not the ability to stream music. Crazy. Hands free calling is it. Ill check out those threads. Thanks.

Just bought and installed the pioneer appradio 3. This was mainly due to the fact that I use my smartphone a lot (iPhone) which is critical for the appradio. But also I loved the look as it closely resembles an updated factory sterio.

All in all very happy!

Ps my damn phone keeps flipping the image

Chris that looks nice...LCVol has a 2006 which places the head unit below the nav screen.

A few folks have replaced the '03+ head units and its mostly the same in terms of wiring as the earlier units (like Chris') A single DIN fits easily and a double DIN can be put in but the defrost buttons would need to be relocated.

This is my setup

It looks a lot better with proper lighting and when it's all turned on.

Thanks for all the posts. Pics look great. Im trying to decide to replace the head unit, or just install a bluetooth interface like the BT-35 TOY from usaspec.com. Keep the pictures coming.

Did you find a replacement unit that allows you to still control climate, nav, back-up ca,era, etc? My OEM unit is on the fritz and I'm looking for a replacement solution.

From personal experience, I don't recommend installing an aftermarket head unit in 03+ 100's. After tearing apart my factory system, the head unit/factory amp/factory nav are dependant with each other in one way or another. At around mid-install, IIRC, I eliminated the factory amp....then I fired up the rig & had a few unusual indicator lights turn on in the dash. I put the amp back in the 'loop' and the dash lights went back to normal. I was able to add an aftermarket amp (bypassing the factory one for audio use) and add aftermarket speakers - all using the factory head unit, but the factory amp & nav are still in their "position" and power on/off. The pre-03 units shouldn't have much of a problem adding any audio stuff from what I have seen, but I haven't personally done one.
