sugar ants...

How do I get rid of them? We keep a clean house but they still seem to show up, the dinky little traps aren't cutting it.

Do I have to call an exterminator or can I do this?

We call them piss ants here. If you have a DYI pest store, tell them you want a product which the active ingredient is Bifenthrin. Follow the instructions, super safe to use, and effective.

I use it for scorpions.

I started getting ants around my kitchen sink in the middle of the summer. Seemed to be when things were the driest and they came in looking mainly for water but then were getting into other things.

Totally unrelated, I started dumping my coffee grounds outside in the planting beds due to the supposed benefits. But then I noticed that I wasn't seeing ants. So now I dump the coffee grounds along the wall of the house outside of the kitchen. Haven't seen an ant inside since I started doing it a few years ago.
