I was stripping the '67 FJ45LV today and I noticed that the drivers door is the ONLY door with a key in the push in knob. All other doors, front and back have a separate key cylinder. Is my drivers door the wrong one or is that the way they came?

the separate key cylinders are not stock. only the drivers door and tailgate(also gas door) had lock cylinders.

How would you lock the truck then?? There are NO inside lock buttons on any doors. The lock cylinders are hooked up to the latch mechanism with the thick wire and plastic "keepers". It sure looks stock.

Anyone have a photo of how things were done stateside?

You aren't making any sense...."Only the driver's and the front"?

My drivers door is as pictured. The rest have a lock cylinder cut in them below the handle and NO key in the handle. Seems odd to me to do it two different ways. Let me know if it should be as described in the book and if so I'll need to put a door together again to see if it works that way.

As stated by others. The stock setup is for the driver door to have the lock cylinder. The lock cylinder was in the "push" knob as shown. The rest of the handles and doors did not have lock cylinders. To lock or unlock the passanger doors it was done only from the inside as shown in the owners manual above.

By the sounds of it someone added door locks because they did not know how to proprely lock the doors. I had a '66 LV that the guy added barrel locks on the inside of each of the doors for just that reason.

Sound's like I'll need to reassemble a door to see if it'll work as described in the scan above. If it does I guess I'll weld closed the other lock cylinder holes. It'll keep folks guessing how to open the truck!
