Subaru Torsion Axle

I keep seeing these Torsion axles showing up for use in off-road utility trailers. Has any one built one, what kind of Subaru's are they found in? Would this trailer bounce around a lot? Someone told me not to use my used springs from my BJ70 for the trailer because they are too long, which will cause the trailer to bounce around. Is this true? The trailer I'm looking to build would be similar to the off-road ones found in this forum. Any suggestions?

For what its worth, Northern Tool carries a bunch of torsion trailer axles in their catalog.

It's not the length of the springs that will make it bounce, it's probably the stiffness. Take a couple of the short leaves out, and run shocks, unlike most trailers.
