Does anyone know what the wattage of the JBL amplifier in a 2003-2007? I understand they changed it in 2003, but I was not able to find any threads about the differences. I am just looking for wattage and channels. I can't even find a photo of the damn thing online, just schematics.

Secondly, does anyone know if the screen covering the rear subwoofer is a separate part? Mine is ripped and I would love to replace it. I have looked through numerous websites trying to track down a part number with no luck.

Its frustrating that so many of the audio threads are for vehicles prior to 2003. I don't know if a more robust setup was installed in the newer ones, or if they just aren't old enough to have wide spread problems.

The screen on the subwoofer is part of the interior panel. I popped it off to disconnect my subwoofer and pull the box out for fixing everything (had blown sub). Ended up leaving the sub/box out and running a subless setup. For now...

As far as power, I don't know. My door speakers work well enough off the stock amp. If I ever put a sub back in, I'll probably tap into the sound signal from original sub wires to a new amp/sub setup.

I'm glad to hear the screen is a seperate part, any idea what the part number is?

My guess would be the amplifier power is similiar to what's rated on the speakers. The front speakers appear to say 30w and the rear 20w. Typically amps have the same rating for all four channels, but i guess there is nothing limiting them from staggering the power levels.

As a long shot, i contacted JBLs customer service to see what current speakers would be similiar and what the specs are on the amp. I doubt I'll hear anything back, but it didn't hurt to try.

No no no. The screen is part of the panel. NOT separate. Whole panel comes off with sub screen attached. Some small bolts, pull snaps, seat belts gotta come off first. Sounds like a big project, but takes 5 minutes.
