I'm trying to solve a small issue regarding the fitment of an aftermarket exhaust onto my bike. The issue is the stock exhaust takes a 1.5 inch drop from the head pipe and then goes back. The aftermarket is a straight front to back deal. the hard part of it is that I have about 6 inches of length I can do this in. Any good relevant suggestions?

The original exhaust is the black unit on the bottom and the aftermarket unit is the red one on top. The bend is quite apparent.

A side by side look.

The only attachment points are at the head pipe and a rear bracket.

Cut the dog leg off the stocker at the weld line, and cut the strait input off before the "muffler" part of the cherry bomb. Weld the dog leg onto the cherry bomb.

The stock unit is 4 inches in diameter while the bomb is 3.5 inches. Besides I could sell the stock stage 1 for 6 bills and would rather keep it intact. I'd like this to be an off the shelf mod if possible. The more I think about it the more I feel some welding is going to be needed to make it work correctly.

modify the mounts to lower the "muffler"

start looking through offset pipe adapters

cut the input off the cherry bomb "muffler" and mock up everything in place. Get a piece of 16ga sheet, a blow torch, and a hammer. Make your own offset.

Why do you need a muffler you pussy?

Is that bike a Toyota, Brian?

Let's have a tech day & fix your bike

Buy 2 45 degree couplings
Using reverse orientation you can make the off set you need

It makes it easier to sneak up on unsuspecting Harley owners and give them wedgies.

Was thinking the same thing. Now I just need to find them.

After doing a little math and experimentation I found a solution. The magic angle is 16*! After experimenting with differing lengths of exhaust pipe I found the proper drop and fit required to get a 2.25 glass pack to fit on my bike. This thing sounds like a cammed out 396 Chevelle without the loudness! Thanks for the ideas everyone!

At $20 a muffler I can change them when they do go loud. I can't do that with any other muffler currently offered for my bike.

The next trick up my sleeve will be a 3.5 inch exhaust with replaceable baffles. Just need to score some 3.5 inch diesel exhaust pipe and some replaceable baffles in varying sizes.

I used 4" semi truck stacks with a 3.5 Cherry Bomb inside. Then I cut the baffles out of the stock pipes on my lathe so they bolt in and out.

Of course, that worked because Valks use dual 4" exhausts stock.:flipoff2:

There is a guy making them with 5" stacks.

I see you got a horn off a semi as well as the exhaust

but those truck nuts look just like the ones you have...

can I watch the stripping/dipping process?

They've been sitting at the bottom of his wife's purse for sometime now. I hope the caustic stripping can remove the stuck on lifesavers off that sack.

Hopefully she didn't have an open laffy taffy in the purse too...... That could be a mess
