stuck cds

Ok, I searched and couldn't find the original thread.....
My wifed LX has had 3 cd's stuck for about 4 months. Would not play or eject. I tried the "hold eject" button, fuse, ect....didn't work. someone posted that they made a fist and hit the front of the stereo - I thought they were joking. But sence nothing else worked I figured what the hell....I made a fist, tapped the front and bingo - the cd's ejected when I tried the button again.

I didn't do that, I just replaced my whole System under the warranty.

I should have tried that!

My wife had a CD jam in the LX as well and while I was driving it I hit a bump pretty good and it burped out a cd!!! Been purring like a kitten ever since. I've also hit some really hard bumps and hung the float in the gas tank so that it read E for a day, I drove back and hit the same bump and presto, again it now works like a charm.

I should also add that my definition of bump is to be considered a pretty damn significant lick.

What if I have a stereo that will not accept CDs?

Would you recommend hitting a DIP instead of a BUMP?
