I'm guessing it's gotta take a little more than three hours, better them doing it then me. If i were to do it myself it would probably take me 3 days rather than 3 hours and an ulcer.

Lift - $800
Tires - $235 ea
Wheels - $195 ea
Installation/alignment - $200

All prices are Canadian

I was wondering if you might share with me a few details.

1. Who did you order the lift through?
2. Who did you get to install it?

$200 for istallation & alignment seems awfully cheap, sh-t i'd drive to Edmonton for those prices...

I picked up the lift locally from Interior Off Road in Edmonton. The installation/alignment was for the tires only, not for the lift. The tire shop that I got the tires and wheels from did the complete install, it was the Tire Warehouse, they did a damn good job too. No problems, they even called me periodically throughout the day to let me know how things are going.

I even lost a hub cap for the wheels when I got stuck and they're giving me one free, just because of the time frame (3 days after the lift and tires went on!).

Here is a picture of my rig semi clean:

Have you noticed whether or not that bug deflector actually limits the amount of bugs that hit your windshield? Seems like any time I hit the highway i'm bombarded by bugs.

I don't think there is much we can do with the widshield design, however, I have noticed when a larger bug is coming and you can see it, it gets drawn up in a wind current that most of the time directs it to the upper portion of the window if not over it.

Muskeg sucks. Back in the day I used to hunt in the Edson , Hinton area as well as Swan Hills. The P.T.O. Braden winch got a real workout on my old 40. The carwash owner in Hinton gave me a hard time one day. Didn't want all the mud in his bay. Ih8mud eh! Enjoy your new fjc. Cheers, Jim
Whats up with that anyway? The quarter wash dude gave me some stink about washing the mud off my truck one day. I told him if my truck was already clean I wouldn't be there.
I found a new quarter wash place, this guy loves me. I spend $20 almost every time I go in.

You have to experience muskeg first hand. This stuff swallowed whole vehicles when the alcan hi-way was built. This happened back in 1970 when the car wash was the only one in town, you could measure the mud in inches. 40's are great! The sump in his drain was going to get totally fouled. Now a days I do rocks, much more satisfying.

For information for you with locking hubs. The wheels I have have removable centre caps for locking hubs, the tire shop gave me the wrong ones, but when I lost one the shop said that is what they are for, and ther're going to replace them all for thier mistake.

Just thought those of you with loking hubs would like to know.

Just pull off the caps, lock the hubs, and go wheeling. When done put the caps back on and they hide the locking mechanism.

You can see the lost one at the link above.
