Hello everyone. I've been lurking here for a few days and finally decided to join. I am in the market for a full size SUV (my E350 lease expires in April). I never had a truck, but always wanted one. Now that I have a kid, can use more room, and want to start taking road trips, I can finally justify one. I started researching the LC only recently. I never considered it since it's close in price to LX570, but then I realized that it comes fully loaded. While I don't really need many of those features, they are nice to have, and most importantly, I know that the price won't go up another 10 grand after the options I do want are added (like on the LX). I also suspect that I can probably get it for way less than MSRP (even though it a rare truck). Once I discovered that the 2016 model is right around the corner, I started investigating. Frankly I didn't want to spend more than 70 grand and GL450 seemed like a perfect choice (roomier, cheaper, better mpg, good looks etc), but LC's capability, V8, quality, durability, and reliability really appeal to me. I drive 20-25,000 mi/year so leasing a GL would cost as much as buying an LC if I keep it for 5-7 years (I am too scared to buy a GL and drive it that much leasing and paying for extra miles is my only alternative). I think I will also enjoy making minor mods, and taking more adventurous trips that a capable truck will allow me to do. April is far away, but I figure it will allow the prices to come down a bit, and do some research on the vehicle.

I certainly have no idea what the pricing will be like, but I hope they will be reasonably priced since it's not a full redesign but a mid-cycle refresh. I never paid more than 500 over invoice for any of my cars (M37 when it first came out, E350 mid-cycle, Maxima mid-cycle), but of course this is a different kind of a vehicle. Also, reading a few posts here lead me to believe that good deals will be possible especially 6 month after they appear. On one hand, it's a low volume truck and they have their customers, but on the other hand, I hear reports of some LCs spending 100-200 days on the lot. I guess time will tell. I live next to a Lexus dealership and I've never seen an LX there for less than 89 grand. All I really want is the navigation system, 360 degree camera, and a heated steering wheel. I would never get a RES, but when my whife heard that LC has one, she said that it will be invaluable to entertain the kid. In that case, I am definitely looking at 90 with LX.

IMO USA dealers won't be desperate to move the 2016 LC's w/prices anywhere near $70K until a year from now (9/16).
MSRP on new 2015's was $81K+ - the '16's will probably be around $1-2K more w/all the new safety stuff & revisions.

My experience w/Toyota dealers who have deep LC inventory is they have bigger fish to fry than giving them away.

On the positive side.....the LC has a good track record for retaining resale values.

Well if your on the fence about buying one, go test drive it and you'll know
If it's right for you. Me and the wife always loved land cruisers but I didn't want to spend the money on it. Then I made the grave mistake of getting a Range Rover and quickly got out of that POS and back into my 4th 4 runner. One day I took my 2010 4 runner in for service and got a brand new land cruiser as a loaner (friend works at Toyota and he knows how long I've wanted one, so he tosses me the keys after I jokingly asked him if he still had the new land cruiser in the back lot still wrapped in paper.) I s*** you not, I left the parking lot, drove home 10 min max and called him and told him I was keeping it and to start the paper work on my trade. Ever since I got in it I have forgotten about every other car I've owned. Drive it, and go from there.

You should be able to get one in the low 70s. I bought my '13 right when the '14s were hitting lots and they were offering same price regardless of year. They only had white and black '14s though and I was wanting sliver or gray. Shop around I found dealers vary a ton on how much they discount.
