I took the first long road trip with my new-to-me '05 and noticed that the rear end bounced up and down much more than I'm used to with a past Sequoia. Had 5 people in the car with a few hundred pounds of bags, etc in the roof box. No trailer.
Even empty with the tailgate down, I can push down and bounce the rear end quite a bit.
Replaced all 4 shocks when I first bought the truck with Monroe Spectrum. Yes, I should have replace them with OEM shocks, but was in a hurry that day.
It just seems like the Monroe shocks don't dampen the bouncing as much as they should. However, this is my first LC and first short wheelbase 4X4, so I don't know how they normally behave.
Considering replacing the rear shocks with OEM before the next roadtrip at Christmas time.
Yes, I researched all the posts that talk about rear shocks but found nothing specific about the rear bounce.
Any experienced insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
