I have an MS 362 chainsaw with a 20" bar. I bought it used last year (approximately 7 tanks ran through it), I ran it last year very little (1-2 tanks) and this year about one tank. I always cleaned it and got all the fuel out of it before storing it. I ran it last week and it ran great. Today I was doing some light bucking and it started to bog down/hesitate when I would get on the throttle (not in the wood). At first it seemed positional, as in when in an upright position it would throttle up as usual. Now it's having a hard time staying running. Gonna try to do some tuning tomorrow. The fuel is fresh and The fuel filter looks clean. Seems to be starving for fuel. Any suggestions?

Thanks D'Animal, I was not able to look at it today but that will be the first thing I look at. I have ran ethanol free since I got it, but I am not sure about the previous owner. I know ethanol really eats those hoses up.

I changed the fuel line on an 034 last year (my father in laws) and it was a royal pain to put in. Hopefully this one is not as bad.

Well I visually inspected the fuel hose but did not remove it as I did not have much time to look at it (been winterizing the rest of the property). The fuel hose does not appear to have a hole in it above the fuel tank as the area is free from gas/dirt/saw dust.

Are you thinking the hole would be a hole in the hose in the tank?

The problem definitely has nothing to do with the carb adjustments. So I will be ordering a new fuel hose.

D'animal, do you sell Stihl parts? I have a couple other things I need/want as well, new air filters, fuel filter and possibly the 3/4 wrap handle kit for this saw.

I have an 046 that I had to put a new fuel line on because it had collapsed. Just a data point for you.

Well my previouse comment about carb adjustment was wrong. Apparently I was running lean. For kicks i wanted to see if i played with the carb more if i could bring it back to life. Per the manual I adjust the L screw almost 1/2 to a full turn more in order to get it to idle correctly. Something definitely seems amiss. It does run great now, and I had not replaced the hose yet. Seems weird to run so good and then all of a sudden have to be out of adjustment.
I was kind of scared to adjust the carb that much but it runs great now.

Hope this helps someone else.

Thanks everyone for all the help and tips. At least I have spare parts now.
