I have a Stihl MS 170 that has stopped pumping oil to the bar. I have followed numerous threads and followed their advice on things to check although none of the internal stuff was specific to the MS 170. I did disassemble the sprocket assembly to check the worm gear and pump gear and they both looked to be operating freely. I checked the outlet in the case where the hole in the bar meet and it was unobstructed. I drained and flushed the oil tank with kerosene in an attempt to loosen debris that might be clogging the oil screen. I didn't find instructions on how to remove the oil filter/screen for examination outside of the oil tank. If somwone can describe how to remove it it would be helpful. I am wondering if someone can make other suggestions and perhaps describe (with pictures if possible) how to remove the oil tank, feed line and connector to see if they, or other parts might be clogged. Also, are there exploded diagrams on how to disassemble these various components? Thanks.
