I was given this weedeater by my FIL about two years ago. I sat for almost eight years. I rebuilt the carb and it worked well for about a year. Now it won't stay running. Spark plug is tan/gray as it should be, I feel good about my gas mixture. Gas is fresh with Sta-bil.

It takes about 5-10 pulls to start and runs well at first. Then I start using it (10-15 minutes) and even at full throttle it bogs down and wants to cut off. If I let off the throttle it will slowly die.

It will restart but will bog with any throttle and again slowly die at idle.

It sounds like a fuel/carb issue, but I have been through the carb a couple of times now.

Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Fuel lines have been replaced and so has the gas cap.

I will try the cap thing next time I use though.
