Any complaints on the Br600?

I'm in the market for a blower. Figured I stick with Stihl since I've had good luck with the MS290 and FS130.

The 550 is $80 less but heavier and with a significant difference in performance. I have hundreds of oak trees so I figured the handhelds wouldn't be enough.

The BR 600 uses the same engine as the BR 550. The BR 600 uses a smaller impeller but spins is faster since the engine runs at a higher RPM.

Since you have the Oak trees, you can use the power.

The biggest problem with the "Super Blowers" is they really perform. Most people do not have a use for the 201mph and 725cfm/1,000cfm so they walk around 1/2 throttle.

Wait a little bit to buy one or make sure you get the BR 600 Magnum. The Magnums have been shipping since the second week of Sept.

Magnum? Even more power? [evil laugh]

What's the difference?

I'm a little worried about the 600 being overkill after reading about people clearing their driveway with the blower at idle. :hillbilly:

But, for removing serious leaves I can't imagine having too much.

After using it you will never go back. In my landscaping business we now use backpacks almost exclusively. We only use the walk behind blowers to move big piles of leaves.

Cheaper too. I can buy 2 1/2 backpacks for the cost of one walk behind.

No more power, just enhancemences through out the blower.

Like what... cup holders ??? ....................

:D

Any more details? I stopped by a few dealers today. They had heard of the upcomming Magnum but didn't know any specifics. Both told me they thought it would be awhile before it was available. One thought it would only be a redesign of the blower tube to up the MPH but at the same cfm. The other mentioned the Stihl had recently bought a carb company and would like be changing carbs. Hmmm....wish I knew if it was worth waiting for. Maybe I can use it to leverage a better price on the current Br 600.

Probably splitting hairs. I would buy it. Sthil is a good company, the stuff is bullet proof. Buy it and take good care of it.

I don't know if it helps, but after using the blower full throttle for a while don't just shut it off. Let it idle for 3-5 minutes to cool down a little.

I know this is an old post, but did you ever buy the BR 600?
How is it?
Is it overkill?
I'm covered up with oaks also and I am looking at this blower.

Bought it. Love it.

Awesome...I will be heading to the Stihl shop soon.

You'll enjoy leaf clean up this year. Dry leaves, wet leaves, sticks, gravel, cats, etc...it'll move 'em.
