going to put a Alpine stereo in my Tuffy. 1984 fj60, going to use the stock speakers for now. going to leave the stock radio in the dash. I do not care if the stock radio is still "hot" . So What' a couple of ways to tap into some power, antenna, and the speaker wires?

Will the wiring of the new radio give me a wire bundle that I can use to splice into the old harness? Any chance of a adapter and "extension" that would allow a
plug-in of the old harness to the new radio?

I know very little about radio wiring...(or little else according to my wife)

I dont think any of the aftermarket wiring kits that are available at places like Best Buy will work with the 60 series radio. There are only a few wires, so it's a pretty simple cut and splice operation. Just get some wire loom and run wires from the Tuffy underneath the carpeting to the dash and splice the wires in. There are also green plugs that the stock speakers go into, so you can cut them off and splice right in.
