Did I miss something in the facts section about this?

If so, I apologize because I have tried...

I am trying to find out what ohms and wattage the stock JBL amp puts out to the front doors and if it is a single signal split between the tweeters and woofers and the tweets run a cap in line?

My door woofer on the passenger side is blown so I am thinking about a new component set and wanted to see what the max depth clearance would be for a heavy magnet on a 6.5 inch woofer.

I am also considering replacing the stock amp and I wanted to know if anyone has done it successfully and what adapters were used.

Do I need a sound processor of some sort to do all of this?

Or will upgraded speakers make a good difference?

The stock front speakers are around 2 ohms for the "woofer" & around 2.5 ohms for the tweet..which is protected by an in-line capacitor. The rear coaxials are around 2.5 ohms.

Honestly, unless you really want to do a LOT of work, I'd just replace all speakers with 4 ohm ones & use the stock amp. Get a 6 1/2" separate set up front..using caps/coils or active crossover(s) mounted to the inside of the door panels....then get a good set of 4 ohm coax's for the rear. You'll love the sound & the stock sub works good...or do some research & find a 4" - 6" thin-mount sub & replace the stock one, but the stock one really does a good job. From my experience, you can't completely remove the stock amp without causing other problems, even if you aren't using it for signal amplification. IIRC, You still need to run power to it & use the ground it shares with the NAV unit.

Awesome info and what I needed to see!

I was reading about the removal of the stock amps being a total PIA.

My stock sub is blown, so I think I will just upgrade speakers all around and enjoy it!
