Jeep makes some pretty awesome concepts every year just for the safari.

I'm 100% serious though if they ever released the 4 door rubi with the diesel in it, it would be a game changer for me in terms of what I may buy.

I'm sure Toyota's response will be an even bigger TRD sticker on the FJ

Same here on 4 door wrangler rubicon diesel. However all I really want is 1HD-FTE from diesel toyz installed in the 100. Can't decide between a 5 manual or automatic. Where are those lotto tickets?

Jeep comes out with great concepts every year, and continues to produce NONE of them for the general public to purchase. Basically all they do is inspire folks to try and build similar from the stock lineup.

I think that the diesel trend will continue and with luck Toyota will jump on board.

As for me, I do not think I will purchase another new vehicle again. I am well over all the little electronic do dads put into them. The price of an AVERAGE new car is something like $32K now, add 4WD or look at something like a dually tow rig and you are well into $40K and up.

Given those numbers I would prefer to take a vehicle like a 60 and do a complete frame off with new power train and interior. Keep the electronics down to a minimum, engine and trans management. Same applies for a tow rig, find an old Dodge with a 12 valve Cummins and rebuild top to bottom.

Did you know that the average car payment has topped $400 a month? No way for this guy, simply insane.

I get what you are saying but it isn't exactly right.

The COD jeep was a concept from a year before but it just wasn't called the COD one.

The only reason we have a 4 door wrangler right now is that jeep produced a few from the last model for the safari and there was soooo much interest they included a 4 door in the line up a few years later in the change over.

The Mil spec version that the rest of the world gets was also a concept car here first.

This made me lol. It wouldn't be nearly as funny if it weren't true.
