i want to put a smaller steering wheel in my '71 fj55, since i installed power steering (the best mod i've made by far) i don't think i need the huge ass stock steering wheel anymore...does anyone know if the ones for an fj40 that sor carries will fit a fj55?

grant steering wheels...you can get them through your local carquest/vato zone/checker or whatever.

Ill second the vote for Grant wheels at AutoZone or whatever store in your area. My AutoZone is stocked and manned by total retards, who never fail to ask "who makes that truck you got there?", but they actually had a wheel and adapter kit for the 40 in stock. My only warning if you go with the Grant is to read the directions for the adapter carefully. They are a general type instruction for 5000 different makes. I f'ed mine all up, but luckily my Autozone, again, employs retards, who exchanged it no questions asked. And as far as I can tell the columns are the same, so what works on a 40 should work on a 55. Hodag

well, i just went to autozone and they only have grant steering wheel adapters for landcruisers down to a '73 model, mines a '71 anyone know if there's a difference?

ah, never mind i just found the adapter i need on sor's site, assuming that fj40 and fj55 have the same steering wheel patterns...

Does anyone have the Grant number for the pre '73 adaptors? (1970 and 1965)
