Between about 62 mph and 68 mph, my 2005 LC's steering wheel would shimmy back and forth about a quarter-inch. It was time for new tires, so I bought some new Michelins at Sam's, got them balanced there, yet the shimmy continued. Today I took it to the Toyota dealer, and they did a road force balancing and another alignment, which fixed the issue. The tech claimed the balancing fixed it about 90% prior to the new alignment, but I wanted an alignment anyway.

So, despite having new tires that had just been balanced, as well as a supposed alignment by a Lexus dealer about 1,000 miles ago, the road force balancing at the dealer fixed it easily and cheaply.

Hope this helps someone in the future.
