Am I supposed to have one? I noticed that with a hard left turn today my tires rub on the 45's drag link rod.

I have the same problem with my 33x9.5x15 MT's on the factory steelies, but the 32x11.5x15's on white spokes i had on there never rubbed in the front, I think it is the different wheel offset on mine.

yes, early axles had one on each side, latter had 2 on each side, one front one back

Ah-ha. Thanks. I wondered. OK, I gotta figure this out. If it is hitting with 30s it is sure as hell gonna hit with 33s!

maybe the bolt/stop has been removed?

I think on the early axles the stop in on the front of the axle

Yes John, they all had at least the one in the front, and the later ones had one front and rear. I've overrun mine enough to have bent the stop on the axle housing. I am thinking of welding a reinforcement plate on the top when I straighten it out. Quick fix would be to stuff a big bolt in there that would keep it from collapsing.

Took a close look, the ears are on the axle housing, and all I seem to be missing is the bolt and nut on either side. Come to think of it, I might have found one or so laying around loose inside somewhere back when I got the truck. (Now, to figure out whether it would be easier to buy it or to try to hunt it down in my massive nut and bolt collection).

Thanks!

not sure where the bolt is.........but the nut is behind the wheel :D
