Hey guys, this is a cross post from the BBRC board. I recently took the lower ujoint out of my steering shaft to replace it since it had some play, and after a week long run around i have found out that the only way to replace that joint is to get a new lower shaft from toyota for 250 bucks and it has to come from japan (5 weeks!!!).

So pretty much what im looking for is someone that either has a spare 62 shaft or a 60 one, i think they should interchange.

Shoot me a PM if you have any leads. Thanks

-Matt

I think Thronton has a parts FJ60 and I think Guillermo Loza does.

PM Thronton - if he does not have one, I'll get in touch with Guillermo.

Matt,
Take a look at Spector Off Road and give me a part # of what you are looking for. Also if you know the Toyota # I can get Josh to check into it . The parts 60 belongs to him . He also works at a dealership and at times the parts guys will get him to let them know what is what on an older cruiser. It looks like SOR has the u joints I'm not sure if I'm looking at the right thing.

Ive got a line on the peice i need from a fella in colorodo, but heres what i need. I need the lower male splined half of a 62 steering shaft. Its only available from toyota as a unit (i cant just replace the joint i erroneously pulled out) and will take 5 weeks to come from japan. I originally thought i could interchange a 60 lower portion but it appears to be a different design. Thanks for the responses though, sorry i didnt check back till now.

Its the lower half of 630, the male splined peice with the joint on it, the one that 109 goes into. Let me know if you have it soon, cuz a fella in colorodo might be shipping me one today.

I think a whole 60 shaft will swap in too, does anybody have one of those?
