Steering Rack Boot Question

I'm replacing both tie rods and wanted to get the general consensus on using zip ties on the steering rack boot where it attaches to the steering rack. It had a metal band style clamp on it, but I think you have to use a special tool to install these. I'm sure you all are going to say use the OEM clamp, but wanted to see if any of you have used zip ties here, and if you had any issues.

I would be worried about the sharp edges of the zip tie plastic tearing the boot. You need something with a rolled edge.

The small version of the MC ones that Pfran sells maybe.

The PO used cable ties, who knows how long ago.
I used cable ties 3 years ago on the same boots. No problems yet. Cable ties are fine.
