Hey folks, just starting a petition to garner support asking Toyota to do more to help those having factory NEW issues with steering flutter (aka steering shimmy, wobble, etc.).

https://www.change.org/petitions/toyota-nhtsa-steering-flutter-defect-in-fj-cruiser-steering-all-years

I DO NOT WANT THIS THREAD TO BE A NEW DISCUSSION OF THE ISSUE. Its been discussed in 100 other places and its not been resolved - and usually leads to US vs THEM discussions. PLEASE DON'T REPLY TO THIS THREAD.

If you are having this issue, simply go to change.org, sign the petition. If 100 of us sign, we get front row seats with the NHTSA.

Since Toyota finally acknowledged the issue on the Lexus GX460 (our sister vehicle), I am hoping this will be enough to have Toyota actually begin addressing the factory defect.

ps: Here's highlights of the Lexus Service Bulletin:

Steering Wheel Flutter at Highway Speeds
Category Steering
Section Steering Gear/Linkage Market USA
Applicability YEAR(S) MODEL(S) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
2010 – 2012 GX460
Introduction
Some vehicles may exhibit a steering flutter condition while driven at approximately 55 – 70 mph. In some cases, this concern is caused by a wheel imbalance or RFV (Radial Force Variation) that is out of range. If the tire and wheel assembly is satisfactory, a steering control valve preload spring is available to reduce the steering flutter felt through the steering wheel.
