Anyone know the story on the trails around Rt 55 on the VA/WVA state line? I have heard that Paddy's Cove has some nice water crossings and that there is a state line trail that goes on for miles and miles. Anyone run any of these trails recently? Are they unobtainium behind locked gates? Im thinking of head out next Saturday (1/26) and do some exploring.

Ran the State Line trail years ago. Not that long, some good off camber (my favorite) and some rocks at the end.

I've walked the trail right at the top of the mountain scouting for bear, I think it goes a mile or two and stops at a radio tower, it may go further but on foot it looked like it stopped, I think its unlocked during deer archery season.

I've driven the lower trail to hawk and camped there not a bad free camping area saw a mama bear and three cups and a larger lone bear later in the morning
