So I've got a 20r w/ a weber 32/36. I adjusted the choke to work properly and the truck starts, runs for 10 seconds then dies. It does this even if your on the pedal? Idle mixture screw is @ 2 turns out per weber set-up directions. It seems to be getting fuel. What do I look for next? adjusting the mixture screw seems to have no effect.:bang:

Stupid weber

Thanks for the reply cruiser88, I thought it might be running rich. Plugs looked good, dry- light tan brown. Got it out and drove around a bit tonight, after it warms up its seems to idle a bit better. Set the lean idle mix. and bumped up the idle screw to about 1000rpm ,but it still doesn't give me consistent enough results to know what to do next. Took it wheeling last weekend, wouldn't idle' got it warmed up, idled fine and drove for 2hrs. 3500ft. -4500ft. low range stop and go lugging, on the way home push in the clutch and it would die before i could get my foot on the gas.WTF! Slowly checking for any vacuum leaks, already replaced all carb gaskets and replaced vacuum lines. Thinking about propane, I can jet an new fcr dirt bike carb, but I'm about to throw this thing in the trash.

Get rid of the weber. I had same issues. Put a stock carb on and it ran like a 20r champ. It was no hot rod but wheelin' it ran great.

I have similar-ish issues with my weber. It likes to die when the truck hasn't warmed up a little...and then it doesn't like to idle right. Then there is my other yota, with the same setup that I have yet to have any issue with. ?????????????? I'm lost as well.

Try an after market fuel pressure regulator. I bought mine from napa years ago for $20. Set it to 1.5 psi and I've never had any problems with my weber.

Tried the fuel pressure reg. tonight seemed to make it worse? Talked to my buddy, Toyota, Dodge, Honda master tech and V.W. freak, he said they chased the same problems w/ webers on vdubs' , rich then lean, turns out it was a worn throttle shaft bushing, they machined in a new bushing and fixed it. sounds like I need a new carb, still thinking a bout propane.
