Starter Pooped out Tonight

Finished changing the transfer case oil and when I started up the rig there was a funny noise. Radio was on, I thought it might be static but the noise remained after I turned the radio off. Turned the LC off and back on. The gear drive was sticking and not retracting I believe. I've already purchased the rebuild parts but have to work tomorrow so I'll try to get my mechanic to do the deed. Seems something always goes out soon after you get a new used rig.

Good luck, While you are doing that you might want to think of doing the PHH....Just a though.

PHH done 20,000 ago when PO had HG done, thank goodness.
Starter only this trip.

Can't seen to figure out how to release the small black plug on the starter. End of work week fatigue set in and after the main cable came off I ran out of gas.
What's the trick to getting the little black plug off?

I think you just squeeze it, but its been a couple years since I had mine out....

Didn't look like there was much squeezing to be had. Do you think it is squeezed from the sides? There seems to be a little hook thingy on the top. ???
