What should I be looking for to give me time before starter goes? I have a 2000 model with 63k.

Turn key and nothing happens. Turn key again and it starts. 63k seems to low. Check all wiring under the hood. Also, have battery tested.

The guage states the battery is charging fine. What is happening is about 2 or 3 revolutions of the motor at a slower pace then it starts fine.

Gauge can say the battery is charging fine but the battery may not have full power. What you describe sounds like a weak battery issue.

Thanks - I will check the battery today

You need to check the connection joints between the battery and starter for corrosion and/or poor continuity.

If you are running the original battery, it is definitely overdue to be changed.

My 01 with 75K was having the same issue. I replaced the battery with a new Oddyssey PC1700mjt. The first time I started it with the new battery it actually surprised me how much better it started.

It was the battery

changed that puppy last night and all is well.

Greg B,

How do you like your Odyssey PC1700mjt?

I'm in the market for a new battery for the 100 and saw you were running it. Where did you buy to avoid shipping?

Not really liking it too much since it is sitting in my garage floor. It has a defective negative post and was causing some funky electrical issues a few months back. I haven't taken the time to send it back yet.

My OEM Panasonic battery is going strong at 8 years 102k miles. Just tested.
