Start in reverse

My clutch slave went out the other day. I finally got the truck into the driveway. I now want to get it into the garage so I can work on it while it's snowing outside. The problem is that my driveway is on a hill and the truck needs to go backward into the garage. Can I start the truck in reverese gear? It will be difficult to push it in unless I recruit a lot of hands. I just want to get started ASAP.


By the way, I will be changing out the clutch MC as well.

You may be able to just run the starter if its not too far or steep.

Put it in low to help the starter do the job. Make sure you keep your hand on the key so you don't run through the garage wall!

do as said above, if you dare. it won't be good for the starter though.

Pull the coil wire off so the motor will not start. Then the starter will pull it into the garage with no worries. Won't hurt the starter for that short a distance.

Pull the plugs & put it 4 low but don't run it more than about 15 sec at a time.
