Anyone have any standalone sheds? Looking for some options to park yard stuff, mower, pressure washer, etc. Looking to pull it out of the garage but also keep it out of the future shop to be built. Figured I'd grab one of these things you see parked outside of Lowe's, but had to find a defibrillator when I saw the prices

What have you guys got? Self build? Kit? Plastic? Metal?

I'm looking at these cheapo Patiowell metal 8x12 kits. Looks like it has something like 34 gauge steel :)doh:), but at the end of the day the kit is shipped to my door ready to go for around $600 with some of the discounts they have in play.

The metal shed doesn’t have a floor so you would be pouring concrete or building a floor system out of treated lumber and putting decking on it.

I’m not sure how tall you are but a 5’ 4” tall shed seems a bit short. I’m not sure you could hang a straight shaft line trimmer in a vertical position on the wall.

Shipping containers work well.

This is the way to go, if you have the room and don't live in an HOA. Strong, secure, built-in solid floor. Prices on them have been coming down recently.

I stick built one after seeing the horrible quality of the box store ones. If the roof is sagging in the parking lot then it ain't going to hold up very well. Having an HOA prevented me from going the shipping container route.

Shipping containers work well. Semi refer trailers are really nice, especially if you can move them yourself.

Do you have any suggestions of where to pick? No HOA here and have been strongly considering one. Only pushback is that I don't necessarily want to look out at one, so we'll have to get creative to make it less container-y. Alternate seems to be a flemsy DIY shed, so will likely push for function over form on this one.

Paint it a lovely color.

You need to find somewhere local, because they will probably charge you to deliver and drop it. There are a bunch of places that sell them here in Texas; I assume Georgia would be similar. It pays to shop around and/or ask locally because prices do vary. Most of the sellers will have different sizes and grades/conditions/ages of containers for different prices. They're not cheap, but in the long run a much better value than a shed.
