ah but the thing is that the owner knows the difference....and yea metal fab companies could make one...but if it was just one then the cost would be huge and you would be better off buying the one off ebay for 500, prolly cheaper

It would be a cost-prohibitive venture here in the USA.

Ehsan made them back in ’03, and they were a limited run deal. A similar thread was going on PPB and he posted about making them again, but I would not hold your breath.

Purchase a ‘glass one and move on. They are nice and 99% of the Land Cruiser people out there will not know the difference.
While I have a few of them in store (with some dents that can be fixed but not perfect enough to get the piece chromed), making new ones would be feasable only if there are a 100 pieces tha can be sold at least. If that can be done, I can get into getting a die made for this..

After all this talk about high dollor bezels, I had some tamperproof screws made up in stainless for bezel owners if anyone is interested. Sorry Ige.

i can always superglue the old bezel on :D

What color scheme is correct on the original bezel? - presumably it's supposed to be painted white, but were the embossed letters supposed to be body color, or red, or just white like the rest of it?

All of those I've seen live have been red, if they weren't obviously redone. But the world was black and white in the early 60's, so all the photos from the literature show the letters as "dark".

not an expert to say the least, but i would think the amount of deformation using a press to make the name, based on the pics i have seen would not be too bad. my lead guy can do wonders with straighting bent metal. he has fixed some stuff that you could barely tell was ever bent before even considering the use of filler. look at the work Ehsan and his guys do, they are amazing.

I am well aware of the quality of work and what his crew is capable of doing.....
