I am considering moving from a 100 to a 200 (1st choice - 2011 in Super White). My concern is that I have had little opportunity to compare side-by-side as there just aren’t many around. I would likely buy at a distance and have shipped or fly and drive back when I do find one. I have driven two local 2017s and was very impressed with them and how quiet they were. I would be modifying for off road use to suit my needs. I don’t know (obviously) how much difference there is from 2011 to 2017 so I’d like to look at a local earlier 200 model with coffee, beer or lunch on me!

So, if you have a 200 in the STL area and wouldn’t mind meeting up, I would appreciate it.

Besides that any thoughts or advice from anyone that’s made that move please weigh in. I am coming from a 1999 100, pretty well built. Also had a 2004 LX 470 a couple years ago.

100 and 200 owner

200 hands down (aside from its ugliness - everything is better than a 100)
Ha, thanks! I see you’re in LA. I’ll be in LB next week for 10 days to see my daughter. Love it there.

I liked the AHC on the LX I had but HATED the look of the front end. Like seriously was a main reason I got rid of it and went back to the dark side of Land Rover briefly.
2006/2007 LC has that plus more horses.
200 is newer. Just newer.
200 has 100 more horses than 2006/2007.
Is it that much bigger?
Will it fit down the trail?
More or less or the same reliability?
Yes I am overthinking.
I may tow an airstream (smaller) in the future.
I can move my bumpers, rack, sliders (maybe - AHC?) all over to a newer 100.
Would do hidden winch, rear bumper, stock rack adaptation, dual batts, comms etc on 200.
A 200 is theoretically safer for my new granddaughter that I intend to steal from my daughter ASAP.

I’m in STL and recently moved from a 100 to a 2013 LX. DMme

I miss STL - wish I was back
Ex STL resident too. Work transferred me to Vegas. My last business trip back to STL I got carjacked by 3 dudes with guns gassing up my rental car to return by the airport to fly home. I do not share the missing it sentiment... Good news is that they didn't shoot at me when I ran instead of staying in car with them like they told me and the cops dropped me off at Lambert and explained to TSA why I had no ID.

Anyways I can't imagine there's much the 200 won't do better and more comfortably than the 100 other than keep more money in your pocket. Unless you gas it up by the airport perhaps...

Will do. Just had a granddaughter arrive yesterday in Long Beach so I’m leaving early in the am and will be out for a couple weeks. Will holler when I get back to the Lou.

Damn. Hate to hear that. Been here since ‘85 and in public safety. s*** do happen.

Kind of rethinking my resistance to the Pearl White or Blizzard White of the 2013+ due to the additional cameras, vent seats, door molding (I’d paint all chrome black).

Yep s*** does happen. Almost 7 years later people at work still thank me because after that event my mega-corporation employer changed policy and negotiated our avis contract to not require refueling before returning the car.

Also on a funnier note when I got back to Vegas and the wife picked me up at the airport with the extra set of keys to my car in the parking garage I couldn't for the life of me remember where I had parked it. My 7 year old daughter says to me as we are driving up and down the parking garage "dad I thought you were the smart one in this family. If you're so smart how did you lose two cars in one day?" So if nothing else a lifelong funny memory of my 7 year old busting my balls came out of it.
