Had new brakes installed in all four corners of the IS300 about 4 thousand miles ago. Correct ceramic brake bads, hardware, bled, turned, etc were installed/completed (previous owner had installed non ceramic pads). The brakes, have squealed ever since these were installed but of course go away when pressure is applied. Mechanic tells me it is what it is since they are ceramic and they are “high performance.” He did check them out again and said all is to spec. Have any thoughts on this? It is irritating enough that I can’t drive with my windows open. Thanks.

Definitly has the shims, you can see them. The anti squeal goop would be last resort since I would have to take them back apart.

Does the spray actually contact the rotors? You would think that would hinder performance.

The rear brakes on my Honda squeal after being applied. Shop says it's dust, not to worry about it... still don't like it though.

Look forward to seeing what happens w/yours...

Did they cut the rotors or replace them? If they were turned incorrectly that could cause the problem.

I'll bet if ask them to re-cut the rotors, they would be willing to do that for you.

Yea, they just cut the rotors (which do look pretty crappy I have to admit).

Ahh, but mine squeak when not applied! Goes away when applied.

Definitly a shims or rotor issue I bet.
