my 07 GX470 has developed a squeak or grinding sound on colder mornings that goes away as it warms. I’ve found tons of great threads on how to fix by applying a little Lube to a specific place on the steering shaft. Problem is that all the posted threads are for the 80 series. Has anyone attempted this in their 120 and does it work to get rid of the squeaky/grinding noise? More importantly, how in the world did you get to the right spot on your steering column on this rig? Thanks in advance!

Great thread here for how to fix on an 80 series. Squeaky Steering Wheel on Turning???

Mine has the same noise, it's part of the turn signal cluster behind the wheel. Stupid expensive to replace. The fix is detailed here:

I'm going to do it this winter when I swap out the steering wheel.

Did you ever get this resolved?

The steering angle sensor is not hard to replace. 20 minute job, but you need a steering wheel puller.

Same part on an LC/LX470 but you might have to splice the steering tilt/telescope "joystick" into the wiring harness which adds time. Best to get one off of a GX.

I just did this on my Lexus GX470 minus the heat probe and it worked. I used a heat gun very carefully and Instead of tooth picks I used feeler gauges to slid in and get the plastic piece off.

Mine does when the power steering fluid gets low. I have an active leak im waiting to fix til the weather warms up

It's not the clock spring or the steering angle sensing ring or the steering wheel position sensor. The fix is in the thread I attached. Nothing has to be replaced, just removed and carefully heated up and then bent slightly and then put back together.
