I realize this has been beat to death, but I just have to vent. As a victim of "squeaky clutch" syndrome, I figure Toyota would do the right thing and fix it. I mean, only about 1 out of every 10 (it seems) with a manual transmission has this problem. Nope, we didn't report it before the sacred 36,000 mile mark (etched in Japanese marble somewhere on Mt. Fuji), so we won't be covered if we get it fixed. Throwout bearings just shouldn't be failing at this rate. I love Toyotas but the company really sucks sometimes.
Alright, I feel a little bit better.
Serious question - what are the ramifications of driving around with a squeaky clutch until they (God forbid) issue a TSB? Maybe if someone gets seriously hurt we can bring a class-action suit.
