I had to get a chip repaired in my windshield and when the tech was driving my vehicle into the bay I noticed a really high pitched squeak. Thought it may have been from the power steering fluid. Drove it home with no music on / windows down and noticed squeaking whenever I was accelerating (or just coasting). Pretty much anytime except when I was braking.

2021, HE, 42k miles. I recently put new tires onto the vehicle (KO2s) but honestly never drove without listening to music / windows down before that, so I don't even know if the issue was there before.

Any idea of what it could be? Power steering fluid shows it's at "hot low", so I'll try to top that up, but assuming that doesn't solve the issue any idea what it could be?

Is it squeaking at idle RPM's?
What about increased RPM's while in park?
Does the sound only occur when moving or also when stationary?

My head is looking towards the serpentine belt or one of the accessories (water-pump, a/c compressor, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, power steering pump, alternator).

However, if the sound only goes away when braking, it sounds like it might be related to the brakes... (possible interference with the rotor shield? possible issue with a stuck caliper piston or caliper pin? worn brake pads are also a possibility...)

Worn brake pads would make sense as I'm at 40k miles, haven't had them changed, and do a lot of stop/go city driving. Don't hear anything when I'm idling, even if revving engine. I'm taking it to my local independent shop this week but always like to get this forums opinion before I do so. Will report back when the root cause is determined.
