Hello!
My FJ60 has a noise that seems to come from inside the dash (driver's side) and it's directly related to the speed of the truck. Imagine a squeaky wheel.
The noise is usually present whenever the truck is first being driven, in the AM or after being parked for a few days. It goes away after a few miles.
Today was pretty bad.

Sounds to me like a speedo cable. Is the needle bouncing? Pull the cluster & spray some graphite lube in it. Can't hurt to lube it even if thats not it.

Have a female ride with you - they're much better at identifying & locating high-frequency noises. Having said that, they are often the source of the high-frequency noise. At least the one usually in my passenger seat is.

x2

Easier said than done, my wife won't ride in my truck (something about the amount of dirt in it):)

Put a very slight amount of pressure on the clutch pedal when you hear the squeak and see if it changes it or makes it disappear. Speedo cable usually is more of a groan than a squeak, but it could also be it.

My wife rides mine now that I bug sprayed mine!:D

Same noise I get! Just noticed it tonight. My speedo does bounce so I hope that is it. I replaced my dash lights a while back and my big hands made getting the spedo back in tough. I'll let you know if that fixes it for me. Do you guys know if replacing the hood stoppers helps with the noise? I noticed mine all are cracked and want to know if replacing them makes much of a difference.

I have not tried to fix it yet (been caught up in a Vespa restoration project). Let me know if the speedo cable is the culprit.
Thanks!
