Good morning, I have a 2004 Land Cruiser, just over 200K miles trying to stretch into a starter truck for eldest son!
This morning I have a squeaking noise and see that the drive belt tensioner is not turning. I also see that the arrow marks are out of range. I assume it should be turning??
Will a belt replacement tighten up and fix the turning issue or could it be seized?
Sure appreciate the insight! Jay

If the pulley is not turning it will burn the serpentine belt. Don't drive it any distance. The tensioner pulley bearing is seized. You could replace the pulley [the part includes the bearing]. The tensioner out of range is because of the high friction of the belt pulling its way around the seized pulley.
No guarantee that the tensioner is not shot, but I'd change the pulley first.

Thank you APKhaos! The pulley that the parts store spec'd was a 3.5," this was a 4." Decided to get the bearing itself and have it pressed into the 4" pulley. All back together and running well. Will probably replace with a new pulley when I can get in, but the pressed in bearing seems to be good.

They are common bearings so you should be good to go. The pulley itself should be fine unless it was damaged in your surgery. Check that the tensioner scale is back where it should be. Good result.
