Anyone know of a good shop in the area that can do a spring re-arch for BeBes stock 60 springs? They are pretty flat and bleeding the brakes last weekend I noticed that all the bushings are pretty much done. Figure it would a good thing as I will only be able to do a lift, at earliest, this time next year.

Figure with a spring re-arch, some new low cost shocks and a fresh set of bushings she would ride quite a bit better.

I don't know about Carson City but in Reno, Johns Springs on Sunshine Lane will do it. Its been years since I've looked into it though, back in my leaning FJ55 days.

FWIW, the last time I went to Johns to rearc my springs I found that new springs were cheaper. I don't think he likes the work....maybe it was just me he didn't like. Let us know what you find out.

Last time I was there I didn't have a terribly great experience, but I too am curious to find out how much he charges for this.
May need this done before too long.

Just talked to them on the phone and they quoted me $70/ea to re-arch if I drop them myself, if I bring the truck in and have them drop them it is another $70 per, so basically $140/ea.

If I can drop them myself that gives me the chance to replace all the bushings with something like Energy Suspension (cheap but still pretty good from what I have heard) or another such company at like $25 set wouldn't be too bad...:hmm:

So either $280 or $560?
Plus bushings and cheap shocks?
I think I'd save the money for the OME Dakar Budget kit from these guys;

Your talking about spending 25% of the cost of the kit just to re-arch your old worn out springs. By the time you add bushings and shocks in your most of the way to buying the OME kit. IMHO hold out for a couple of months and do it once, you will save money in the long run and have a better set-up.

I echo Dan's comments.

X3

Especially since most "rearched" springs will sag back out in a short time. You can ask Dan about add a leaf on the stock springs...

Thanks for the input guys. That was what I was thinking but didn't know if the rearched springs would last longer than the time I planned on swapping in the lift. The plan is to have the money for the lift saved up by this time next year and do it all myself (in that time redo the brakes, rotors, knuckles, etc.) so that way I can have a nice ride by that time.
