As the title says, I plan on being around moab the second week of march. I am from boone, NC and have never been out west before. I would love to find anyone who knows moab that would like to ride for a day or two. I can offer a full cooler of beer to anyone one that would be willing to ride, for after of course. Let me know if anyone can make it.

Although I have never been to moab....I live very close...and have plans to addend the trip to CM07 in may....I am nearly finished with my 40 and have never wheeled it...once it gets paint I will need to test it...so if I dont find plans for SB then I might be game for meeting you there. What level of trails were you planning on taking....what mods do you have to your rig?

My rig is stock for now. I don't know if I would have driven any of my past built rigs cross country. I am running 33s and will have a winch bumper by that time. Not looking for any hard trail ridding, maybe something that will leave me able to drive home.

Anyone else going to be in the moab area?

Get the Charles Wells Book Guide to Moab Trails blah blah blah. The maps and descriptions will prepare you and it is well worth the $20 or so it brings. Really if you have that book you are set for a good Moab vacation.

Thanks man, I was planning on buying a good book so I would have some idea of what to look for. I am still hoping to find someone who has run some of the easier trails around moab, so if anyone around the moab area would like to ride let me know

Stop at the visitors center downtown, very helpful and tons of info, books, maps, etc.

Thanks man, I will do that for sure. Any one else have advice for the first time at moab? We are planning on camping on tues. night and ridding on wensday. Anyone have advice where you can camp, and good location to wheel?

Camping is up to you.. I prefer to camp in the spots west of town along the colorado river.. There are spots on the north side, and south side of the road.. North side is public land and has like a $5 fee.. the south side has private spots that are about $5 a day aswell.. you could also camp in a campground near town..
northing beats the first day i went to moab, rolled in after dark, Setup camp, Woke up the next day to the sound of Swamper Sx's and v8's.. peeped my head out the tent and saw the canyon walls! beautifully!

For wheeling, Get a book and determine what trails your capable of.. Start of with Hells Revenge or something like that..

have fun, Moab is da s***!
