I am in-between this cruiser and the one posted by silhouette "1990 fj 62 lifted, no rust!".

I would like a cruiser with some mods like the 62 lifted, but I am not sure if I should purchase the one with much less mileage and just do the mods myself. Can anyone give me any advice on which one to consider buying?

Thanks for your time and advice as I am new to the cruiser world...

What matters is how well the vehicle is maintained, your mechanical capability & funds. If you have the means to do the mods yourself, you have the option of doing it the way you want and not settle for PO's mods.

Also asking/purchase price: calculate the cost of the mods you would want and weigh each rig according. Mods can be costly. My 2 cents.

On any of these older trucks, I think the most important thing is rust.

The one in CL has already had body parts replaced with "California parts", and states that the undercarriage is "decent", whatever that means.

Why don't you save yourself a ton of grief and just buy a non-rusty car from CA, AZ, NM, TX, etc, anywhere they don't use salt.

I've owned two rusty cruisers in my life, and you couldn't give me another one.
