Anyone here own a spot welder, the hand held type that has tongs one it, I was thinking of buying a miller for putting together my body parts , I have a mig and tig welder but I was thinking it would work well on some of the parts.
I see the tongs are can be made to fit any shape and the tips are removeable, Any input?

I bought one of the Miller spot welders years ago for a project but haven't used it much since. It worked well but I remember that it had to have clean metal and nice flat/flush surfaces to get good results. But that's what you really need anyway for spot welding panels.

A variety of tongs/tips are available. Mine's a 115V but there's also a 230V version - it pulls half the amps so I'm guessing not much difference in weld quality. Weighs about 25lbs so its a beefy piece of equipment.

I notice that there are various listings on ebay for similar units under $100. I'm skeptical of quality though since mine cost about $500 many years ago.
