If ya don't know, I ain't tellin'
Okay, I've got both my water temp and gas gauges occasionally spiking, I remember reading that this is a common problem, I assume it's a bad ground? Is that all it is? Nothing with the gauge cluster?

I've had on and off electrical problems recently (CB radio static, funny sounding horn, starter that seems not be be getting enough juice, etc.) so I've got to go over the harness soon.

Does anyone have a list of all the places the harness is grounded to the chassis?

pull the cluster(its easy) pull the fuel gauge(temp and fuel share the ground in the fuel guage) and clean the contacts. If this doesn't work(and it didn't for me) buy a new fuel guage($30) and it will cure the problem.

Hummmm, is that all it takes to fix that? My 60 spikes now and again. First time was climbing the grapevine on my way down to San Diego about 2 weeks after I bought it. Scared the crap out of me. :-[

 I just found your post on Pirate. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=175285&highlight=spiking+gauges

I might have to check my wiring to the fuel sender--it got ripped out by a tire separation and my rewiring might be less than optimal.
