Came into work this morning and found these boxes on the floor.

Not sure all the particulars but something about mog outers getting stuck on the ends of these spider nines.

Will update once we get the mogs in the shop.

Coming grass hopper..............

Waiting on the mogs and specs for widths of axles.

And they are going under a 80 series toooooo boooot.......

great post......where is the rest of it!

Looks like a fawesome setup - you don't have to mess w/ the long snout of the mog diff & that center'll open up many locking/ gear options. Are you going to have dbl. splined shafts w/ 16 spline mog ends & different at the diff or rebroach the mog gear at the box to match the sides at the diff?

Thinking for the rear we will machine and respline the 404 axle to the 9" side and make custom front axle shafts altogether.

Pretty kool, had the Mac from Exact Axles in the shop explaining the build we will be doing.

Front short side of the 404 is a smaller diameter than the long side from the factory?

They sure could beef up those axles as they are tappered down pretty small in the centres compared to the ends.

You should see the size of the calipers, monster friggin big.

the portal box takes a lot of the stress off the inner shafts so you don't have to run large/chromo shafts. i had a set of narrow housings for my 404s with some exact chromo shafts. non-neck-down billet stuff. super beefy but probably more than you'd need for this rig.

post some pics john!

a few more...

The first is of the Mog axles. the last two are totally unrelated, but show the end result of a DIY Spring Over (rear axle for an FJ45 we just did a 13BT & H55 swap to) where the rear perches were not adequately welded into place and the whole rear axle spun - snapping off the pinion, tearing out the brake lines, etc... etc...

Rob's packing 9" - and a some new swag !!

Here's the latest from the shop - how can you tell it's Friday and the weather's nice ?!

Rob is doing a little posing for us with one of the Spider 9 housings that are part of the project this thread is supposed to be about.

In the background is our recently imported HZJ73 with 5 speed, diff locks and winch - it is for sale - and it's in mint condition.

is he gonna mate with that axle housing ?

Nice pinion breakage.

Thanks again for the arb's, still going strong after 5 years and who knows how old they were when I got em from you.

Ya Pees, I sold you those lockers in a moment of the empty wallet syndrome.

Glad you are still enjoying them, hope to bump into you one day at a cruiser run.

Pulled the girls top out of the sally ann rag pile, put it on to get a laugh out of the guys in the shop........
