Yeah, all I have to do is release the cable connector. :crybaby:

How? Any tips? I've tried and these nimble fingers can't feel the release and I don't want to yank on it. I'd really appreciate any helpful suggestions. I suspect it's another "doh!" answer but I need to hear it.

Thanks!

Physically pull the entire guage cluster toward you until it's no longer perched in the hole at the bottom, but sitting on the steering column. pull like hell on the cable (you won't hurt it), plug in, reinstall.

That's the way I do it, I've had mine out a couple times. For reference, my hand is about 3.5" across the palm, so medium size.

You have to pinch the side of the white plastic clip around the end of the cable at the speedo, which releases it from the back of the housing. Getting it back on is almost harder because you have to push it onto the back of the speedo which takes more maneuvering and strength than just pinching the white clip.

Just curious... What is it you're really trying to do?

After pulling the vent tube it was pretty easy. Before connecting it I re-routed it a bit to make it easier next time.

zcruiser, I was swapping out the non-opening center vents with ones that can close and adding a new panel that surrounds the heater controls which I could have done w/o the removal but chose to do it all at once.

Found a couple of dead bulbs I didn't know existed too. :D
