speedo not working

(2003 LC , v6)
First of all all gauges was working fine , i just went to clean the cluster 3-4 months ago , and i moved the needles around thinking it will auto reset, any speedo and rpm and temp went crazy and off set

it took me like 2-3h to fix the speedo and rpm and made them report correct readings , the temp didnt want to work, so i left it and put the cluster back on.

i had a free time to waste so i went to try fix the temp gauge after some needle moving and removeing the battery a milion time , its finaly working correctly.

but now my speedo stopped moving ! , my LC is playing with me or somthing

i tryed to move the needle of set to reset it
i removed battery each try , left battery off for 2h+ and still no luck.

1- odo is working fine
2- fuses are fine
3- it was working fine hours befor
4- spanking the dash will not do it

man i shouldv left the temp gauge dead , now i cant see how fast i drive >.< , which is worse then not knowing the temp

Don't know if this helps or not, but looking at the "Body Electrical" section of the FSM:
for the following symptom "Tachometer, fuel gauge and engine coolant temperature gauge do not operate.", the suspect areas listed are 1. Gauge 1 Fuse, 2. Wire Harness, 3. Combination Meter

for "Speedometer does not operate" suspect areas are 1. Gauge 1 fuse, 2. speed sensor, 3. wire harness, 4. combination meter

Sounds like it can't be the fuse or other things wouldn't work, and since it was working probably speed sensor didn't suddenly bust, so maybe you either have an issue with wiring harness (could you disconnect it clean contacts and reconnect it) or combination meter?

fuse is ok , and connectors are ok to

i do see the speedo move a hair (when i disconnect battery and reconnect)

any other things ?

there was a recent thread at lcool.org on a trip meter zeroing when the ignition was switched off. Turned out to be the interior light fuse blowing. L/H kick panel was the location. I'm not saying that that is the solution, but something to look into.

ok i got a cluster from a friend car , everything worked fine

means sensor , fuse , cable are all fine and working

problem is with my speedo electronics or connections

So did you find a solution? Did you just end up buying a new cluster?

My speedo stopped working today but now the d light works...
