The 4Y will bolt up to your g/box but you will need the correct bellhousing.

Not sure about the radiator but you should be able to swap the outlets in the tanks to get them to line up.

Not sure about the engine mounts.

What about a commodore v6 conversion if you're thinking of a petrol swap? Commodores are cheap to aquire and are a great motor in a Hilux. If you can go for the auto as well as the T700R4 is a great auto for 4wdriving. The conversion kits aren't exactly cheap but they have everything you need for the conversion. Not sure how much the kits are but give Marks 4WD Adaptors a call.

If you want to stay diesel/Toyota what about a 13BT? Just a thought.

Talking to my Farther this evening. I've decided to pull the Head myself, and take it to one place, and pull the Block myself and take it somewhere I don't where yet. :flamingo: I'm starting work tomorrow. :cheers:

Why take the head and block to 2 different places? It adds another potential headache:mad:

How much is a complete rebuild of your old motor?
It might work out ok if you pull the engine and remove all the external bolt ons yourself and refit the engine.
Some rebuilders will still give a complete warrantee if they inspect it when your finished.

Forget the 4Y,I know they are cheap ,but by the time its running it will have equalled the cost of rebuilding your 2L.
And you wont be allowed on Diesel Tech anymore :ban:;)
