Hey My buddy has started building speaker pods to mount to the roll bar of a 40 or jeep. I already have a set in my 42 and they are awesome. He makes them out of fiberglass and then rock guards them. They hold a 6" speaker. I am hoping to post a picture this week of his newest set, and also might be able to bring a set or two to the cruiser show this saturday. Just wondering how many people might be interested in buying a set? They would be $100 for just the pods, and depending on what speakers you want the price would go up from there, or you could buy your own speakers.

Are you going to be at thecruiser show? Because I am going to bring a set with me for anyone to see, we are still trying to figure out a good mounting bracket, mine i used ready rod and drilled through the roll bar but if any cruiser heads have a better idea that'd be sweet. I will post a pic tonight when I get home from work, which will be after midnight.

Very interested, been looking for something to get the big plywood box out of the back of my rig.If they look profesionally done you better bring another set to cruiser days. thx Chris

I looked into using those but they are around $400, use 2 speskers per pod at 2 ohms, one fires fwd and one rearward and are in excess of 8" in diameter.I did find a speaker bar intended for jxxps, but it attaches to the fwd portion of the roll bar which I dont have.

So far, for a mount we had tried a home theatre mount but it hung down to low...On my truck like i said, we used a ready rod and drillied through the bar, but then realized later that if you have a nut or anything on top of the bar it might tear or wear on my bikini top, so i ended up just putting small weld on the ready rod to the roll bar. However this is alot more work than intended. my buddy wants to make these as easy and customer friendly as possible.

Here are the pics of my speaker pods

I think im out too, going with something less obtrusive.

ok....well thanks for the input. What exactly are you guys looking for? My buddy has his own company doing custom work, maybe he can make something more appealing to you guys?

Sub enclosures for the stock location on an 80 series. Read this thread...gone bad: https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/113192-subwoofer-upgrade-replacement-completed.html and the 2nd: https://forum.ih8mud.com/merchandis...duck-dong-subwoofer-upgrade-limited-time.html

There is a market for these, as this one fell through for many.
