I recently bought a spartan locker for the rear axle of my 1991 fj80. Once i had it all installed in the 3rd member and then put it back into the carrier I realized i cant get the C clips that hold the axle shafts back in, USA standard gear wouldnt answer my call and I do plan on trying in the morning. My question for on here is if anyone has had any experience with putting a spartan locker in a toyota 9.5, I can't find anything online. USA standard gear says it's compatible with the fj80's and the fzj80's so Im not sure if im doing something wrong or what, should I have kept the 3rd member in the carrier and just taken of the back plate? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Suprising you needed to remove the carrier. Typical lunch box lockers are installed with only the back diff cover removed on
semi floaty axles. Remove the cross shaft, remove the spiders. Then install the bit according to the instrucitons. With the semi float rear ends, the Locker should have some slots to install the c-clips onto the Axle shafts. These lockers can be a real bitch when tring to take apart, like after a broken Axle. Cheap is never cheap for long.
The picture of the locker looks just any of the old lunch box.
If you do not have slots to install the C-clips, they sent you a locker for a full float.
Did they send up instructions to install? If they told you to remove the Carrier in the directions, they may of sent you instructions for a full float.
Not there with you, nor can I tell what you have done from what you have stated above.

Thanks for the reply, I actually ended up figuring it out, I didn’t need to remove the 3rd member at all, I was able to sneak the c clips in and install. I made a video and am going to post it on this thread for any future lookers.
